Meet the management team:

Phillip John BSc (Hons) MRICS

Chief Executive

Phillip has over 30 years experience in commercial real estate in the UK and Middle East.

He began his career at Jones Lang Wootton (JLW) working with institutional investors and private clients before moving to Cluttons in Bahrain. There he managed both commercial and residential properties owned by the Bahrain Royal family and leading traders in the Gulf region.

On moving back to the UK, Phillip joined Saxon Law, a Mayfair-based practice, to set up their central London property management business for institutional investors and private clients, before establishing Tideway in 1995.

Tony Bones FRICS

Managing Director

Tony is a well known specialist in commercial real estate with more than 35 years experience. During the early 1980’s he was responsible for the property management of central London developments at Greycoat.

He then joined Richard Main & Co (RMC) building a property management team from scratch and became the leading ‘City of London Property Manager’ of the early to mid 1990’s.

Following a merger between RMC & JLW (now Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL)), Tony was appointed Head of their 'City of London Property Management division' and latterly Head of their 'London Property Management team'. This later led to an opportunity to lead the UK & EMEA property and asset management business of Cushman & Wakefield (C&W). He joined Tideway in 2013 bringing his knowledge and expertise to build upon our success.

Michael Burbage BSc


Michael is a specialist in commercial and residential property management and began his career with a small West End practice back in 1978 after graduating with a BSc in urban estate management.

Since then he has accumulated nearly 40 years experience in all aspects of property management working for a wide variety of clients. His career has spanned periods at various central London property companies and agencies including 9 years as a director of Smith Melzack Pepper Angliss.

He joined Tideway in 2003.


Lead Facilities Manager

Jon joined Tideway in 2009 and has overall responsibility for the management of more than 30 multi occupied buildings and ongoing daily management of all on site teams.

Prior to joining Tideway Jon spent 12 years at BNP Paribas latterly as Facilities Manager for a central London portfolio of approximately 30 properties.

Aimee Humphries

Senior Residential Property Manager

Aimee joined Tideway in 2015 bringing with her more than 5 years specialist experience in managing high end central London residential property portfolios.

Prior to joining Tideway Aimee worked at Foxtons, one of London’s largest residential agents, in their property management division. Aimee is fully conversant with the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) standards and requirements.

Jim Kennedy

Head of Property Management Accounting

Jim joined Tideway in 2016 and is responsible for all accounting aspects of our commercial and residential property portfolio. Tideway currently collects in excess of £50m pa rent and administers annual service charge budgets in excess of £7m pa.

Jim has over 25 years of property accounting experience working on some high profile client portfolios for some of the larger managing agents including 18 years at Capita plc (formerly Nelson Bakewell).

Whilst at Capita/Nelson Bakewell Jim was responsible for managing a large team of client accountants and was involved with the implementation of property management accounting systems on behalf of two of their larger clients allowing the clients access to real time accounting data.
