Phillip John

Phillip is a specialist in commercial and residential property management and property asset management. He established Tideway in 1995 to provide a proactive approach from senior experienced professionals to all property asset management issues.

Phillip has over 30 years experience in commercial real estate throughout the UK and in the Middle East. Starting as an asset manager at Jones Lang Wootton he worked with institutional investors and private clients undertaking all management aspects of the property process.

Phillip spent several years as Senior Surveyor in Cluttons Bahrain office where he dealt with the management and valuation of major shopping centres, office buildings and residential buildings owned by the Bahrain Royal family and some of the leading traders in the Gulf Region.

In 1989 Phillip joined Saxon Law, a niche Mayfair practice where he set up and was Director of their property management business dealing with all aspects of the property management process throughout the country, and predominantly in Central London for private clients and institutional investors.

In 1995 Phillip set up Tideway Investment Management Limited to provide specialist investment services to private investors, offshore clients and institutional investors.

 

Tony Bones

Tony is a well known specialist in commercial property management, primarily in Central London.

Tony has over 35 years experience in commercial real estate throughout the UK.

His previous involvements have included property management and property management advice on the management set up of Central London developments at Greycoat during the early 1980’s and building a property management team from scratch at Richard Main & Co (RMC) and growing that business to become the leading City of London Property Manager of the early to mid 1990’s.

Following the merger of Jones Lang Wootton (JLW) and RMC in 1995, Tony was appointed Head of City of London Property Management for Jones Lang Wootton (now Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL)) and latterly Head of London Property Management for JLL in 2006.

In 2008, Tony was offered the opportunity to lead the UK Property and Asset Management business of Cushman & Wakefield (C&W). Over a five year period Tony successfully led that business increasing revenues particularly for portfolio management of institutional clients. Whilst at Cushman & Wakefield, Tony was also responsible, in addition to his UK role, for leading the entire Cushman & Wakefield EMEA Property and Asset Management business for 18 months.

In 2013, Tony joined Tideway Investment Management Limited to reinforce the success of Tideway in the property management field and to further build that business into one of the leading “Boutique/Niche” property managers in the UK.

 

Michael Burbage

Michael is a specialist in commercial property management and is a director of the company.

Michael started work in 1978 with a niche West End practice specialising in property management. Since then he has accumulated 30 years experience in all aspects of property management working for a wide variety of clients. Latterly he was a director of Smith Melzack Pepper Angliss before joining Tideway in 2003.

 

Eric Hawkins

Finance Director

Eric is head of our Property Management Accounting Department and responsible for all accounting aspects of commercial and residential property. Eric was promoted to Finance Director in April 2008. Tideway currently collects in excess of £40m pa in rent and administers annual service charge budgets in excess of £5m pa, in respect of 31 multi tenanted properties.

Whilst working at Jones Lang Wootton, Eric was the main author of the commercial service charge report known as OSCAR which is now an industry standard annual publication.

 

Katrina Downham

Senior Residential Property Manager

Katrina is a specialist in residential property management with over 8 years experience in managing high end portfolios in Central London.

She started working in Knightsbridge on a luxury rental portfolio in 2004 as a Lettings Assistant, before becoming Assistant Property Manager.

Katrina joined Cluttons LLP as a Residential Property Manager working in Block Management on the prestigious Hyde Park Estate. She worked at Knight Frank LLP on properties such as the St Pancras apartments and on ‘lifestyle’ property management for high net worth individuals.

Katrina became an Associate of the Institute of Residential Property Management in 2008, and a Member in 2010, passing both the Part I and Part II exams with distinction.

She joined Tideway as a Senior Residential Property Manager in 2010, taking over day-to-day responsibility for the AST and Block Management portfolios.

 

Jon Sewell

Facilities Manager

Jon joined Tideway Investment Management Limited in 2009 as a Facilities Manager. Jon has responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety, tendering and management of contracts, setting and managing over £5m in service charge budgets and the day to day management of the on site teams.

Jon previously worked for BNPParibas/Atisreal for 12 years in various capacities. In his most recent role he worked on the Central London West End portfolio as a Facilities Manager and was responsible for the day to day running of approximately 30 buildings.
